Dear Member
The next network event will take place on 27th April 2010, 09.00am – 12pm at The Derbyshire Network office. This event will look at E-Learning and new Technologies that can be used in the Skills and Education sector.
In the information age knowledge is power and building knowledge in your organization empowers it to compete, grow and succeed. Traditional instructor led training is a great option under certain circumstances. However, it is expensive, difficult to manage and even more difficult to track its effectiveness. E-Learning/New Technologies offer solutions that are highly cost effective, totally customizable and easy to manage and assess. This event will give you an overview of varying products/innovative ideas for you to consider all of which will save time and money for your business:
Qwizdom Interactive Audience Response System - Qwizdom is a market leading provider of Audience Response Systems, sometimes referred to as Electronic Voting Systems or Audience Clickers. Using advanced Radio Frequency technology, Qwizdom’s handheld remotes and interactive writing tablet are designed to engage your audience in the boardroom, the classroom or for staff training. Imagine polling your audience in the middle of a meeting for their input, and then instantly viewing a graph of the results
Destiny – Destiny is the leading global provider of Digital Pen Technology using Anoto functionality and a UK leader in mobile data communications. You are able to write out pre-printed business forms in the field (just like using an ordinary pen), then send the data back to your computer system – all within a couple of minutes. This brings customers dramatic savings in time, cost and energy consumption without major changes to working practices or the need for significant upfront investment.
RSC East Midlands - The East Midlands Regional Support Centre (RSC) is one of thirteen spread across the UK funded by the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) to enable post-16 education and training to capture the benefits of Information Communication Technology (ICT) and e-learning. RSC will talk about the positives and negatives of using E-Learning and E-Portfolio and the myths surrounding the use of this technology.
Pellcomp - PICS is a powerful, flexible system used by more than 450 UK training providers to manage their contract profitably. Developed with and for providers over the last 12 years, PICS addresses the demands of the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), Jobcentre Plus (JCP), and DCELLS. PICS is constantly updated to accommodate changes made by the funding organisations such as the LSC and improvements to existing features.
