20 Year old Tim Miles from Swadlincote has always been interested in lorries and cars. After leaving school Tim attended college full time but decided that he wanted to get a job to coincide with college, because, as he explained:

"I feel it is better than going to college full time, as you can gain work experience at the same time."

Tim is currently employed at Jeffrey's Vehicle services of Woodville and has recently achieved his NVQ level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Technology. Tim's manager said..."

"Tim has come on leaps and bounds over the past six months. He is left to do things on his own initiative and his work is checked. Tim is a keen team player within work and during outside activities."

Tim works shifts now that he has completed his qualification and gained further experience. His typical week will involve getting vehicles ready to meet MOT standards, general services, mending clutches, radiators etc.

Tim is very keen and enthusiastic about what he does and once he has qualified as a mechanic he can look at other aspects, which will include supervising, management or becoming a specialist in fuel injection management systems.
