Entry to Employment - E2E

Entry to Employment (E2E) is a programme designed for 16-19 year olds who have left school but are not quite ready or able to to access an Apprenticeship or other level 2 programme (such as an NVQ). It can also be for people who can't decide what they would like to do.

Skills covered on the programme can include, Personal Social Development, Skills for Life, CV writing, job hunting skills and Work Experience in a wide variety of occupations.

It takes between 16 and 40 hours per week.

E2E is a flexible learning route that will enable you to become a useful member of a work force and can also help you to progress onto further qualifications. You will be paid a training allowance of £40 per week if you attend for at lest 16 hours per week.

Achievement bonuses are also available as you progress through the E2E programme.

    E2E programmes are usually only available through Connexions.

Education Maintenance Allowance - EMA

Although you do not get a wage on the E2E programmes, you may be eligible for weekly Education Maintenance Allowance payments of £10, £20 or £30 per week. To be eligible for EMA, you need to have an annual household income of no more than £30,810. The table below shows how much allowance you will get depending on your annual household income:

If you're eligible for EMA, you will also receive bonuses for making good progress on your course.
