The Derbyshire Network hosted their first learner celebration evening last night, to recognise the achievements of our learners across our Business Admin, ECDL and personal development courses.
Organised and hosted by our Business Admin students, they were set the task of arranging the event as part of their course and had to develop a range of skills such as developing the agenda for the event, produce the invite list along with designing the invites. They also visited the local caterer and negotiated the price for the buffet to ensure it came in within budget for the event.
Michelle Hill CEO of The Derbyshire Network said, “This is one of the best parts of our job! Seeing just how far these learners have progressed has been fantastic. It’s not just about gaining a certificate, it’s also as much about the softer skills such a gaining friends, building up confidence and watching them come out of their shells each in their own individual way and now they are confidently and mingling with guests here tonight talking about what they have learned and wheat course they want to go on next.”
At the end of the event, the Business Admin students presented their tutor Jeanette Taverner with a gift of some flowers as a thank you for the work she has put in to help them develop and complete the course successfully.
