Maths course is a big plus for TDN learner Terry

One of our current learners, Terry Neate began his journey into learning a little later than many, but this hasn’t held him back from achieving his first qualification.

Following redundancy from his job as a milkman’s assistant, Terry found himself out of work and without any qualifications behind him.

Rather than wait for retirement, Terry decided to do something and asked his advisor about courses he could take to improve his English and maths. Terry was referred to the Derbyshire Network and after completing an initial assessment he was enrolled on to a course and immediately showed his determination and willingness to work hard.

All his hard work and effort has paid off and Terry has now achieved his Entry One Maths Certificate and has progressed on to his Entry Level Two course and his Entry Level One English course.

Terry is really enjoying coming and learning at The Derbyshire Network and can’t believe the progress he has made and in his own words, “I am proof that you’re never too old to learn!”
