Business Administration Apprentice

We have an excellent opportunity for a Business Administration Apprentice to train and work within the office facility of a soft furnishings manufacturer.

This business is a privately owned company that has been in their industry for over 16years and regarded as one of the UK and Europe's leading suppliers of soft furnishings to the Leisure Industry.

Their high-quality product ranges can be found in many of the leading manufacturers of Luxury Park Homes, Leisure homes, Lodges, Touring Caravans and Motor-Homes. They also provide a refurbishment service for Leisure homes, Offices, Restaurants, Public houses and clubs with a dedicated installation team available.

Apprenticeship summary

Working week - Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 16.00pm Friday 8.00am - 12.00pm - 34 hours per week

Weekly wage - £136.00

Expected apprenticeship duration - 12 months

Potential start date - 10th February 2018

Apprenticeship level - Intermediate

Job description

  • A Purchase Ledger will be expected to perform any of the following tasks:
  • Process invoices, reconciling delivery notes to invoices received and purchase orders
  • Set up new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within the purchase ledger
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase summaries
  • Process business expense returns
  • Cashbook and petty cash cheques
  • Processing BACS payments and preparing cheques
  • General admin duties including: filing, photocopying, data entry and telephone

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

Future prospects

Progression within the company into a more senior role within Accounts or any of the other departments is possible.

Things to consider

Will require accuracy and attention to detail. Tasks must be completed within strict time constraints. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
