Coronavirus / COVID-19: guidance for educational settings
With the first closure of a school in Derbyshire 27th February (Burbage Primary School, Buxton) due to a confirmed case of corona virus amongst their parent population. It would be useful for Training Providers to review the governments guidance on Coronavirus / COVID-19: guidance for educational settings,
This guidance will assist training providers in providing advice for learners, staff and parents or carers regarding:
- the novel coronavirus, COVID-19,
- how to help prevent spread of all respiratory infections including COVID-19,
- what to do if someone confirmed or suspected to have COVID-19 has been in an educational setting, and
- what advice to give to individuals who have travelled from specified countries or areas within the last 14 days, including school trips.
Coronavirus advice for education settings poster
There is a poster to accompanies guidance which can be downloaded, printed and displayed in all education settings. It is aimed at parents, learners, and all staff.
There is no suggestion by the government that the threat of a Coronavirus outbreak is raised in the UK, but it would be prudent for training providers to review their business continuity plan , as it probably doesn’t include a health risk. There are lots of examples of business continuity plans available, but if you need any help please do not hesitate to contact The Derbyshire Network and we will be happy to help!
